On June 13th, our guide shared an exciting message—the flowers were blooming! It was the magnificent Rafflesia arnoldii

and the majestic Amorphophallus titanium.

These extraordinary blooms took years to grow and blossom, making it a rare sight to behold. Found exclusively in the Indonesian rainforests, Amorphophallus titanium thrived solely in Sumatra.

Both flowers emitted a distinct odor resembling that of decaying flesh, attracting flies for pollination.

Unfortunately, habitat loss posed a threat to these remarkable species, making their existence increasingly scarce. The news filled us with awe and urgency, realizing the limited time we had to witness the fleeting beauty of these exceptional flowers.
